[ When Jeff relays this particular question to her--not citing its source, just making it sound like he's making a grocery list--she yells from her bedroom: ]
So she’s some kind of teenage vigilante? I’m having difficulty following the thread between homicidal and superhero.
How old is this girl? Where is she from? Was she provided with any kind of social care? If they’re bringing in children from other universes and abandoning them to the streets I’ll be having a strong word with my superiors.
It’s a weird request, but this is a weird place and we’re here under weird circumstances.
If this girl has slipped through the cracks someone has to help her.
[ Jeff reads over that text once. Twice. Three times. If there was any part of him that was still frosty towards Waltz (and it's Jeff, so lbr: there wasn't), it's all warmed up now.
Oh no.
Athena was right.
He does like like Cameron Waltz. ]
i'm not sure. to be honest I don't know anymore than you do...
i said she could come over for pizza and movies. And some other kids too (you know Athena! she makes friends with everyone)
[ He sends that text, then types another one. Deletes. Types it again. DELETES. TYPES IT ONE MORE TIME AND IMPULSIVELY HITS SEND: ]
It’s pointless to hypothesize. We should meet her. This kind of discussion should be held face to face in a comfortable, neutral environment. Somewhere public. With Athena.
I agree that two grown men should take care not to be alone with a young girl prior to establishing a relationship, regardless of intention. We don’t know where she’s from, or what her experiences have been. Considering she’s a violent teenager lacking a proper support system, I think it’s best to err on the side of caution. Children don’t become aggressive for no reason.
[ Guess he shouldn't have initiated a flirt. CALHOUN, YOU FOOL. He'll send another text to show that he's totally cool and not disappointed and DEFINITELY doesn't feel like a total idiot: ]

I think that sounds like a fine dessert option yes.

Consider it done.
Does Athena need anything? If I ask her myself she'll say no.

I asked her why we were a package deal and she said because "two adults would be better than one"
that's weird right? I'm not weird for thinking it's weird, am i?

What is
Is that a flirt or an insult
If it's a flirt, then that's so fucking cute and dorky, and he likes Cam EVEN MORE. If it's an insult, then it's a VERY PECULIAR ONE.
You are so hard to read, Waltz, AND THIS IS WHY JEFF HATES FLIRTING VIA TEXT!! He misses the old days of phone calls and face to face conversation!! ]
Looking forward to it!
[ THERE. That's, uh, nice and neutral. ]
